MBTI (Step I): Interpretation in depth

Course Length: 1 day (usu. 9am-4.30pm)

What the course is about: A quick, simple method of interpreting MBTI Form M item responses for a deeper understanding of type results.
  • Each question is identified with an MBTI Step II facet or subscale
  • Enables you to know how a person has answered beyond the four sets of preferences (E-I; S-N; T-F; J-P).
  • Particularly useful for Slight results e.g. a person might prefer Intuition overall, but act in a common-sense (Realistic) manner
  • Question responses are also interpreted in the context of Jungian ideas on personality, particularly type dynamics and development

Suitable for: Accredited MBTI users, particularly those who use type in coaching and counselling. Trainers will find it useful as preparation, also directly with participants at their courses.

At the end of the course: Participants will:
  • Be able to use this new interpretive method
  • Have the ability to quickly interpret Slight preferences or unusual results in both individual and group settings
  • Understand more about the questions that make up MBTI Step I
  • Be able to help people arrive at a clearer understanding of their type preferences
  • Be more effective in using MBTI and understand more about type in general

Course preparation and materials: No pre-reading required. Participants are encouraged to bring MBTI Step 1 answer sheets for discussion and interpretation. They will receive a comprehensive folder of handouts

Note: This course is the result of original research on MBTI Form M and is an interpretive method, not a scoring system.
